Friends of Shahnameh

Friends of Shahnameh was formed in 2011 by Dr. Shahireh Sharif and Ali Sadeghi in Manchester to celebrate the national Ferdowsi Day (Commemoration Day of Ferdowsi). In 2015 they catered for non-Farsi speakers by adding an English section to the ceremony.

Shahireh and Atusa delivered four captivating storytelling workshops centered around Gordafarid and Bijan and Manijeh. From poetry to colouring and drawing, our workshop participants were able to connect to some of the character’s Haideh Ahmadzadeh danced.
